She was no-nonsense.  She was strong in her convictions.  She persisted until she got the answer to her questions.  She wasn’t an educated woman, but taught me about the love of learning.  She didn’t let her disability stand in her way, teaching me to play to my strengths.  She knew how to tell people they had done something terribly wrong while still making them feel good about themselves.  She taught me that you get more flies with honey.  Above all else, she was fiercely loyal and proud of her family.
